Informa D&B's new Municipalities Report is produced for any town with over 10,000 inhabitants.

Understanding the true economic potential of a municipality is key to deciding where to invest, open a business or plan public policies. To facilitate this analysis, INFORMA has launched the Municipalities Report, a tool that offers a comprehensive view of a municipality’s business demographics and economic and financial situation. It also enables comparisons with others with similar characteristics and analysis of its relative weight within the province and autonomous community to which it belongs.

Based on INFORMA’s database, the report brings together in a single document indicators on companies, employment, revenue, business trends, risk levels and the municipality’s leading companies, offering an objective snapshot of its economic activity.

At a time when access to verified data is critical for business competitiveness, this tool helps identify market opportunities and sectors with development potential, fostering an environment conducive to private investment, local entrepreneurship and optimising resource allocation and the design of effective public policies.

The Municipalities Report is aimed at both public administrations and companies and investors. For example, it is useful for town councils seeking to attract economic activity, companies assessing new locations, chains planning openings, or entities analysing investment opportunities.

Isaac Martón Barbero, CEO of Informa D&B, states: “Decisions on where to invest, open a business or drive local economic development need to be underpinned by reliable, verified data. Our new report makes it possible to understand, in a single document, the business reality of any Spanish municipality with over 10,000 inhabitants”.

The Municipalities Report includes data on:

  • Size of the business fabric (sectors, revenue, employment, age).
  • Trends and developments (new companies, insolvency filings, sales, results).
  • Risk analysis (Probability of Failure and payment delays).
  • Comparison with similar municipalities and against the province and the autonomous community.

This new INFORMA solution makes Spanish municipalities’ business information comparable, facilitating analysis of their competitiveness and economic trends, as well as identifying niches and business opportunities.
