During the first half of 2026, 73,004 companies were incorporated in Spain, a figure representing an 11% increase on the same period last year, according to INFORMA's Business Demography Study . The 11,504 business creations in June remained virtually stable compared with the same month in 2025, with a slight 0.4% decline, although they were 1% higher than those recorded in May.
In the first half of 2026, 3,382 insolvency proceedings and 17,436 dissolutions were recorded in Spain, according to the data on Insolvency proceedings and dissolutions compiled by INFORMA. These figures represent a 5% decline and a 12% increase, respectively, compared with the same period in 2025.
Understanding a municipality’s true economic potential is key to deciding where to invest, open a business or plan public policies. En España existen 35.276 empresas
zombis, cerca del 3% del total de empresas activas en nuestra
base de datos, un 11% menos que en 2021, según el Estudio sobre Las empresas
zombis en España realizado por INFORMA. Estas empresas no pueden cubrir sus costes financieros de forma
persistente.
Entre enero y mayo de 2026
se han constituido 61.500 empresas en España, lo que supone un
aumento del 13% respecto al mismo periodo del pasado año, según el Estudio
sobre Demografía empresarial realizado por INFORMA. En mayo
se crearon 11.390 sociedades, cifra que desciende un 16% en el interanual y se
queda un 4% por debajo de abril.
En los cinco primeros meses de 2026 se han registrado 2.858 procedimientos concursales y 15.255 disoluciones en España, según los datos sobre Procedimientos concursales y disoluciones extraídos por INFORMA. Estas cifras suponen un retroceso del 3% en el caso de los procesos concursales y un incremento del 11% para las disoluciones respecto al mismo periodo de 2025.
El retraso medio en los
pagos de las empresas europeas se eleva por encima de los trece días, 13,15,
en el primer trimestre de 2026, según el
Estudio sobre Comportamiento de Pago
de las Empresas en Europa realizado por INFORMA. La demora crece cerca de un día desde el trimestre
anterior y 0,41 días respecto al mismo periodo en 2025.
