The average payment delay for Spanish businesses reached 14.17 days in Q3 2026, slightly lower than the previous quarter, according to INFORMA's Spanish Business Payment Behaviour Study published by INFORMA. It therefore remains above 14 days, a figure it had fallen below in the last quarter of 2025, although it narrowed slightly, by 0.13 days, year over year.

According to INFORMA's study Business creations over the past 30 years , 3.3 million companies were created in Spain over the past three decades.

During the first three quarters of 2026, 101,347 companies were incorporated in Spain, representing an 8% increase compared with the same period last year, according to INFORMA's Business Demographics Study carried out by INFORMA. In September, 8,417 new companies were registered, a 2% decrease compared with the same month in 2025 and, although it rose 3% versus August, it was the second-lowest monthly figure year to date.

In the first three quarters of 2026, 4,699 insolvency proceedings and 22,701 dissolutions were recorded in Spain, according to data on Insolvency proceedings and dissolutions compiled by INFORMA, representing a 2% decline in insolvency proceedings but a 10% increase in dissolutions compared with the same months of 2025.

The payment delay for businesses in the Business Services sector reached 15.25 days in Q2 2026, according to the Business Payment Behaviour Study for businesses in the Business Services sector conducted by INFORMA.

A total of 1,463 companies relocated their registered office to another region in Q2 2026, up 3% on the same period in 2025 and 8% quarter over quarter from Q1 this year, when the figure stood at 1,353, according to the Registered Office Relocations Study published by INFORMA. This means that, for every 1,000 active companies in Spain, 1.07 decided to relocate over these three months.

INFORMA maintains a firm commitment to sustainability and social action as part of its corporate responsibility strategy. Within this framework, the company has maintained its support for cancer research for five years by co-financing one of the Fundación CRIS Contra el Cáncer Foundation. The collaboration, launched in 2022 and continuing through to 2026, has contributed to the development of the project led by Dr María Velasco, a researcher at the Spanish National Cancer Research Centre (CNIO) and Madrid’s 12 de Octubre University Hospital.
